My long suffering wife and I managed the walk from the Hamble and along the foreshore of Southampton Water and onto the river Itchen and into Southampton. I have published the pictures on this site, but this is only a first look to see what is there, I will decide what I want to come back and photograph again, using different formats and under different lighting conditions. I am pleased with the low light images and using the differing cuisines to capture a part of the diversity of the city. In conversation with one of my former tutors, there was a PhD proposed along almost exactly the same lines, but covid happened and the funding was withdrawn..
There is a small possibility that I might be able to get some of this work into Southampton City Art Gallery, which would be a major achievement for me. In the meantime I shall make plans for my next shoot(s) and order some film...
