Chilly walk, funding, moving

I managed to get out and do some photography on a cold morning in the pre sunrise light, well worth it! It has re-energised me to carry on. I am chasing funding, I have applications in at various places but it is sometimes difficult to stay motivated. I deferred my PhD to September 2024 in order to get funding sorted, but it is a largely thankless task. At my age it is difficult to find work of any sort, so I will keep chasing those open calls and stay positive!

I have written a project proposal to Southampton City Gallery, and I may have an opportunity to exhibit in the John Hansard Gallery, also in Southampton, in 2025. I am working on a project called 'Silk Road to Southampton' , the principle photography starts on Friday 26th Jan along the banks of Southampton Water from the river Hamble to the Northam Bridge, exploring how Southampton grew into the diverse city it has become.

In April I will hopefully continue my work on the Urban Forest, looking at the area between Hull and Liverpool and the site of the proposed Great Northern Forest which promises some 50 million trees. There is much to look forward to, I just have to pay the bills along the way and also try and fund a move from th Isle of Wight to the Mainland!.
